Textiles value chain, like, fashion, garments, designers, leathers…

have been better than what it is today if much has been done”. He added
Talking about Africa
Textile,
The president also
added that, just like other continents, African’s textile industry has a
historic significance that can sell, but the industry has generally failed to
capitalize on that.
“We should always
start by telling our stories, which are always interesting no matter how you
see it
“There have been
several factors that have been causing decline to the textile sector and what
we want to do is find a way to solve them with globally accepted solutions” he
continues.
“Africa can regain its
lost glory, if we can rekindle our abilities and potentials…… and what GCCI
want to do in the textile industry is to scale it up with the other sub-sectors
like fashion, leather, wool, and cotton.
“We are presently
working on the venue for the event as the date is already confirmed", adding that their full
plan has just one goal, which is to redefine textile and make it a global
brand.
“Despite having a
tight calendar already, we have spotted this sector as one that needed genuine
intervention” he concluded
