The relationship
between climate change and biodiversity loss has been established. Climate
change disrupts natural habitats and threatens the extinction of many plant and
animal species. As with the Coronavirus, the destruction of ecosystems and
natural habitats raises the likelihood of animal-to-human disease transmission.
However, there is still time to act!
The One Planet, One
World Conference is a Globe Chamber of Commerce and Industry-led initiative
that will bring together government, stakeholders, and decision-makers from all walks-of-life to identify and accelerate transformational initiatives and
investment solutions for climate, biodiversity, and coastlines.
The fundamental
purpose of the conference is to support the development of real solutions for
the transition to a green economy, climate change adaptation, and biodiversity
protection.
The initiative will
ensure that the successes of the climate discussions are implemented by seeking
new innovative partnerships, as well as proposing real solutions to minimize
the consequences of climate change and safeguard plant species, animal and the
environment. It is thus a technique of giving meaning to partnership, aligning
it with transformative projects that benefit citizens within the context of
climate action.
Scaling-up preparations
for the Conference that has the ambition of protecting the environment, the
President of Globe Chamber of Commerce (GCCI), Hon. Buchi George in his Social
media handle, While expatiating on the conference, talked about how important
is it to protect the environment, with reference to green energy, he said, green energy look set to be part of the future
of the world, offering a cleaner alternative to many of today’s energy sources.
Readily replenished, these energy sources are not just good for the
environment, but are also leading to job creation and look set to become
economically viable as developments continue.
“The fact is that
fossil fuels need to become a thing of the past as they do not provide a
sustainable solution to our energy needs. By developing a variety of green
energy solutions we can create a totally sustainable future for our energy
provision, without damaging the world we all live on” he added
“The One Planet,
One World Conference will be structured to create a framework that can help align
partnerships along the most strategic paths to success, such as: collaborating
and sharing solutions to deliver local, national, and global action; investing
in the transition to green environment and inclusive economies. Protecting vulnerable populations through
innovative technologies and nature-based solutions, as well as environmental restoration.
“The Collaborations and investments of
today are changing the world of tomorrow”, he concluded
