About Nigeria - Vietnam Economic and Investment Forum 2022

In an effort to unify Trade globally, Trade Nigeria in partnership with Globe Chamber of Commerce and Industry has come up with a list of events that will change how Nigeria as well as African countries do business.

Unveiling plans for Nigeria - Vietnam Economic and Investment Forum 2022, billed for Hanoi, Vietnam, the Chairman of Globe Chamber of Commerce, Hon. Nwabueze Buchi George, the chairman of Trade Nigeria  said there are more events lined up for 2022 and even beyond.

“This is big because we are working with African organizations and the Asian government, knowing how much they contribute to global trade these days. If we can make things easier and more accessible on both ends, it will be very easy for both finished goods and raw materials to go either ways with little or no stress this year and beyond”, he added.

Vietnam is a South East Asian country with an estimated population of about 96 milllion. The country has an agrarian economy, and is the 5th largest rice exporter in the world.

In 2019, The Governments of Nigeria and Vietnam seek to enhance co-operation in trade and investment in view of tapping significant potential between the both countries.

It was also confirmed by Doan Duy Khuong, Vice Chairman of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who said the two countries had significant room to boost co-operation

Vietnam was an important gateway for Nigerian firms to penetrate other markets, especially ASEAN markets, and Nigeria was a potential market for Vietnam in Africa.

Khuong said both countries had potential to boost co-operation in agriculture, agricultural processing, garments, mining and building materials.

Nigeria wanted to import products that were Vietnam’s strengths and Vietnam wanted to import raw materials for processing.

It might also interest you to know that trade revenue between Vietnam and Nigeria averaged more than $250 million during the past five years.

In 2016, bilateral trade reached $303.84 million, up by 23.8 per cent over the previous year.

Vietnam mainly exported ships, phones and components, garment and plastics, as well as chemicals, machinery and electronic products to Nigeria. While in return, Nigeria exports   cashew and wood to Vietnam.

The Nigeria –Vietnam Economic and investment forum 2022, will be a program that will promote bilateral synergy between Nigeria and Vietnam.

Stay tuned as more update comes your way.
