In today’s dynamic environment, and with the advancement of
technology, economies rely heavily on creative, talents and extraordinary
individual to thrive and stay ahead. Moreover, it has been suggested that a
society's economic and cultural strength can no longer be measured only by the
production of goods, but also by the production of information and creative
ideas, which can be referred to as “creative economy”. Hence, society must
prepare individuals for their future life to be thinkers, skilled people,
problem-solvers and creative.
It understood that arts have become an important and
essential part of developing the creativity of individual, as it helps the individual
to build their confidence and knowledge and to engage with other people.
Moreover, it provides them with the necessary skills to develop their
creativity through using platforms and programs that were made specifically for
Talent, Idea, Creativity and Art Development.
Globe Chamber of Commerce and
Industry has instituted a program called ‘TICAD’ (Talent, Ideas, Creativity and
Art Display) Exhibition Expo. It is designed to promote the psychological development,
public participation and employability of young people, most especially the
ones experiencing situations of risk and social vulnerability, and in so doing are
contributing to greater social cohesion.
According to the president of
Globe Chamber of Commerce, Hon, Nwabueze Buchi George “ The
Talent, Idea, Creativity and Art Display is a well-planned and structured program
that is driven by innate passion and vision to create an inclusive, supportive
and inspirational platform where individuals, organizations and students can explore,
develop and realize their individual artistic aspirations”.
“The initiative
is aimed at discovering, identifying, training and providing opportunities for
gifted students to compete, develop and give full expression to their dreams”,
he added.
“Our
mission is to support and institute programs, and creative activities that will
motivate young adults of different communities and to provide an appropriate environment
for them to showcase their talents”.
“We are building the nation as well as the future leaders of
the creative industry, establishing chain value and creating employment for
Nigerian youths,” he further stated.
“Creativity is one of the most interesting and important
part in the field of learning”, he concluded.
