National Agricweek and Food Expo: A program Designed to Create Growth in Agro Sector

National AgriWeek and Food Expo, is an Agriculture  program, designed by Trade Nigeria and Globe Chamber of Commerce to create opportunity for growth in the Agro sector of an economy.

The Agriculture and Food expo will be a breaking ground for Agri/Agro business and, also unifying international countries seeking to unlock new export opportunities in Africa where strong economic growth is driving demand for imported food and farm products.

The program initiative, will seek to strengthen the commercial ties and foster fair and reciprocal trade between  countries.

The objective of the program will be to help lay foundations for long-lasting business relationships. In addition, in-depth economic and policy analysis, and local site visits will help participants better understand the opportunities and challenges of exporting to other countries of the world.

In terms of Sustainable Food and Agriculture, Take a look at the imminent threats to sustainable food security through a cross-sectoral lens. As the world faces food supply challenges posed by the declining growth rate of agricultural productivity, accelerated deterioration of quantity and quality of natural resources that underpin agricultural production, climate change, and hunger, poverty and malnutrition, a multi-faced understanding is key to identifying practical solutions.

The Agriweek and Food Expo will give stakeholders a common vision, concept and methods that are based on proven and widely agreed strategies for continuous improvement in sustainability at different scales.

While information on policies and technologies that would enhance productivity and sustainability of individual agricultural sectors is available to some extent, researches and literatures are practically devoid of information and experiences for countries and communities considering a comprehensive approach (cross-sectoral policies, strategies and technologies). The Agriweek and Food Expo will, in its effort try to  fill this gap, providing information on proven options for enhancing productivity, profitability, equity and environmental sustainability of individual sectors and, in addition, how to identify opportunities and actions for exploiting cross-sectoral synergies.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted in a world where food insecurity and hunger present an enormous global challenge. The world’s population is expected to grow to nine billion by 2050 and demand on global food systems intensifies every day. However, transforming our food and agriculture systems to make them sustainable, resilient and inclusive will deliver access to healthy and nutritious foods, help create livelihoods for small-scale producers and processors, and help protect ecosystems and combat climate change.

In this context, business has become a critical partner in designing and delivering effective, scalable and practical solutions for food security and sustainable agriculture. Every actor along the agriculture supply chain, including farmers, producers, traders, retailers, investors and consumers has a critical role to play to establish sustainable food systems that advance food security, protect the environment and ensure economic opportunity.

The vision of a world without hunger is ambitious. And it cannot be achieved in isolation. Food security and sustainable agriculture call for all businesses, large or small, to conduct responsible business.

Global Student Exchange Program Powered By Globe Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Partnership with Trade Nigeria

It is time for Africans, most especially Nigerians to stop doing the same thing and expect a different result, especially in education  where there is a need to adopt and adapt innovative ways to aid the educational sector’s competition with developing counterparts.

The Global Student Exchange Program  is designed by Globe Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Partnership with Trade Nigeria to give ample opportunity to students who want to ply their studies abroad.

Below are some ways the students’ exchange program will enrich the personal' as well as the academic life of participating students.

          1.      The Student Will Experience A Completely New Way Of Life

Studying abroad will allow you to experience different cultures and perspectives, including new traditions and customs and meeting new people. Fully embracing this new culture is a chance to step out of your comfort zone and experience unfamiliar situations.

Fully throwing yourself into this experience, for example taking part in local activities, trying the local food and making friends with a variety of people, will give you a better understanding and appreciation for the nation’s history and its people.

And as fun as studying in a new country is, it can feel overwhelming at times.

Studying in a new country means changing your habits and facing unfamiliar situations – which can be scary! This is especially true if you don’t know many people and are struggling with the language.

Use these challenges as a way to discover your strengths and your weaknesses. Stepping out of your comfort zone is one of the things that makes the studying abroad experience so valuable.

It means in the future, when unexpected problems and difficulties arise, it’ll be easier for you to cope with them as you’ll have had some experience adapting to diverse situations.

2 .      Studying Abroad Will Expand Student’s Employment Opportunities

Not only is studying abroad a great way to expand your perspective, but it can also boost your employability. In an increasingly globalized world, more and more employers are looking for students with international experience.

Why is this? Studying abroad shows employers that you can adapt quickly to changing situations and that you are a good problem solver. It also gives you a better understanding of different cultures, which is highly valued in the workplace – particularly in international companies.

Many students decide to stay in their host country once they’ve finished studying abroad. If you decide to do this, you’ll be sure to benefit from studying there and knowing the local customs.

          3.     The Student Will Experience Different Styles Of Education

Studying at another university can be different to the style of teaching you’re used to, particularly if you’re studying abroad for the first time.

Use this as an opportunity to experience different methods of teaching and find out what type of learning works best for you. It’s a great way to immerse yourself in a new academic setting and see a side of your degree that you may not have seen before.

             4.     You Can Take The Opportunity To Learn A New Language

If you’ve ever wanted to learn a language, here’s your chance! Is there a better way to learn a language than by living in the country? Studying abroad gives you the chance to fully engage yourself in learning the language of your host country.

In addition to the considerable language practice you will get in day-to-day life, your host university might offer language courses, giving you a perfect blend of colloquial and formal language skills.

            5.     You Will Make New Friends From Around The World

One of the main benefits of taking part in a student exchange program is all of the great friends you’ll make while you’re there. During your studies, you’ll meet a wide range of people from many different backgrounds – some of whom might become lifelong friends.

It’ll also be beneficial to have friends in different countries after you graduate. Not only will you have an excuse to visit lots of different countries, but these people may also become an important network of business contacts later on in your career.

        6.      It Will Make Subsequent Travelling Easy

When studying abroad, students often choose to travel to nearby countries. It’s a great opportunity to see parts of the world you might not have otherwise visited and the experience can teach you a lot about different cultures.

Visiting other countries can help change your worldview and give you an international outlook – something that is highly-sought after by employers.

World Water Summit and Expo, Ljubljana, Slovenia

World Water Expo is an event that will proffer solution to problems that evolve around water development, Environmental Services, eco- friendly System, Portable Sanitation, Water Quality, High Pressure and lot more…..

The event will be supported by Globe Chamber of Commerce and Industry and co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Slovenia and other  MDGAs and the European Commission.

Expert opinions that will be welcomed at the event will be based on collaborative links between continents in expediting progress in an all-inclusive viewpoint to water that contributes to the peace-development-humanitarian relationship.

Water is entering the new decade with everything to play for. Public awareness of the challenges ahead is greater than ever before. Climate change is bringing exciting new responsibilities. Technology is promising real productivity gains. Investment is buoyant. But making the most of this future is not going to be easy. So much in the world is changing.

Water Development is critical for socio-economic development, stability and the protection of ecosystems everywhere, but competition for water is increasing as populations grow and the consequences of climate change take effect. Sustainable Development Goal 6 aims to ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

The growth of every organization in the water sector depends on understanding where our assumptions are wrong. However it is not just about asking big questions. It is also about connecting the big picture with what is happening on the ground, and tracing out the implications for strategy and tactics. More importantly it is also about connecting with the other key decision makers from across the global water industry, sharing their insights and inspiration.

In other words, the programme works as an effective commercial hub to connect professionals, manufacturers & distributors with buyers, Dealers, Operators, Contractors and Potential Reps. from the served markets.
