‘Culture meet Commerce’ is a program designed by Globe chamber of
commerce and Trade Nigeria in partnership with the Federal Government of
Nigeria for business, trade, cultural experience and economic development.
According to the chairman of Globe Chamber of Commerce Hon. Buchi
George, Cultural participation can build strong communities and create economic
assets which can be harnessed for regional growth.
“Culture are consistent sources of economic
growth, during both good and difficult economic times. Specifically, culture
and tourism policies and programs increase economic development by attracting
businesses, creating new jobs, increasing tax revenues and promoting tourism”
he added.
Culture is a vital element of economic development, diversification and it play a key role in urban revitalization and community renewal.
“This is why we will be partnering with the
Federal Government to encourage the support of culture through a program tagged
“Culture meet Commerce”, that will promote economic development and
revitalization at the state level”. he concluded.
If culture are revitalized and strengthened it will
attracts business interest, investors, creates economic assets that will be harnessed
for economic growth.
